Did you know PlanIt Chic is your answer to any anticipated occasion you have in mind?? March has been such an abundant month for us and yesterday we were blessed to plan this amazing princess-themed birthday party!
It was absolutely FABULOUS....and the client could not have been more pleased! She basically showed up. There were no worries on her part and she and her husband were able to treat their precious little girl, Mia to this wonderful birthday celebration she will always remember.

We were super pleased with the wonderful vendors that helped make this one such a great success: design and coordination by us (PlanIt Chic); rentals from Intents; Bouncy Castle from Spacewalk of Springdale; Cake and specialty treats from Rick's Bakery; Music by DanceEnhance Entertainment; Photography by SteelyJoe Studio; Glass favor engraving by Mrs. Judy Bratton; and live singing and portrayal of Princess Ariel (The Little Mermaid) by U of A Music Student, Miss Sarah Biggs.

So be sure to call PlanIt Chic when you you want to be a guest and to throw a party to impress!!

For all of you brides and bride's families out there hitting a wall with your wedding planning; remember our philosophy at PlanIt Chic: YOU should be a GUEST at your own wedding!

I found this a long time ago and will not take credit for it, but it is something you really should consider if you haven't hired a Wedding planner. We are here to help! Contact us for a complimentary consultation today (before we book up)!!!

Why it is in your best interest to use a Wedding Planner:

Wedding consultants are professionals whose training, expertise, and contacts will help make your wedding as close to perfect as it can possibly be. They can save you considerable time, money, and stress when planning your wedding. Wedding consultants have information on many ceremony and reception sites as well as reliable service providers such as photographers, videographers, and florists, which will save you hours of investigation and legwork.

Wedding consultants can provide facilities and service providers to match your budget. They can also save you stress by ensuring that what you are planning is correct and that the service providers you hire are reliable and professional. Most service providers recommended by wedding consultants will go out of their way to do an excellent job for you so that the wedding consultant will continue to recommend their services.

Options: You can have a wedding consultant help you do as much or as little as you think necessary. A consultant can help you plan the whole event from beginning to end, helping you formulate a budget, and select your ceremony and reception sites, flowers, wedding gown, invitations, and service providers; and/or s/he can help you at the end by coordinating the rehearsal and the wedding day. Remember, you want to feel like a guest at your own wedding. You and your family should not have to worry about any details on that special day. This is the wedding consultant’s job.

Things to Consider: Strongly consider engaging the service of a wedding consultant. Contrary to what many people believe, a wedding consultant is part of your wedding budget, not an extra expense. A good wedding consultant should be able to save you at least the amount of his/her fee by suggesting less expensive alternatives that still enhance your wedding. In addition, many consultants obtain discounts from the service providers they work with. If this is not enough, they are more than worth their fee just by the stress-reliever they serve as.

Liz and Roger's wedding recap

Last weekend we had the pleasure of coordinating Liz and Roger's wedding! It was smashing, truly beautiful. On Friday, we arrived in Fort Smith to help with set up and the rehearsal. The ceremony site was in the rotunda of the Fort Smith Convention Center. The decor and design was the epitome of elegance. Liz and Roger had a definite vision of their big day, and we just executed it.

We want to thank Karen at Floral Boutique, Anna at Dancenhance, and Patty at Tables Matter for their part in pulling off this beautiful ceremony.
After the vows were said at sunset, the guests and wedding party made their way to 21 West End. If you're looking for a unique venue for your next event, we highly suggest 21 West End. This place is COOL!!! We added over 150ft of twinkle lights to the atrium and set up both the atrium and restaurant for about 80 guests. The theme was more of a natural elegance and it worked well with the elements and features 21 West End already has.

Anna was the DJ for the reception also, Simply Sweets provided the gorgeous cake, and Netanya's Pix did the photography.
Our pics however were done on our camera phones, and do not do the wedding justice. We'll post more if we can get our hands on some better photos!

March Madness Trend-down #3: Haute Desserts... YUM!

Blame it on the popularity of Top Chef: Just Desserts, Amazing Cakes and Cake Boss, but cake bakers and pastry chefs are churning out incredible desserts and wedding cakes with gourmet flavors and haute style. - From The Knot.

Sure we can blame it on the popularity of these cake and dessert shows, but I'm not complaining! What a fantastic way to celebrate your wedding and treat your guests.

The tradition of a wedding cake has been around for quite some time. Beginning in early Roman times, a thin loaf was broken over the bride's head at the close of the ceremony to symbolize fertility.  The wheat from which it was made, symbolized fertility and the guests eagerly picked up the crumbs as good luck charms.  During the Middle Ages, it became traditional for the couple to kiss over a small cluster of cakes.  Later, a clever baker decided to amass all these small cakes together, covering them with frosting. Even the groom's cake had a special meaning (instead of just showing the groom's personality). Young women (unmarried) would take a piece of the groom's cake home to place under their pillows and the old wive's tale says "they will marry whomever they dream of that night." - From http://www.ourmarriage.com/
As brides continue to follow trends and put their own stamp on the celebration, why not take this tradition to a whole new level?

We have great relationships with talented bakeries in the area. They are not only known for creating visually stunning cakes but also combining flavors to make a truly signature dessert for you and your guests. The trend here is all about detail, how it tastes and building a flavor profile. This is a perfect trend to take on for that sophisticated bride!

March Madness Trend-down #2: Video Guest Books!

Building on the idea of wedding photo booths, take it up a notch and create a confessional-style video booth for your guests to say a few words about you to the camera. You could even dress up your iPad as a guest book as the newest way for guests to "write" you well wishes. Bonus? Postwedding, you can easily share your guest book online via YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or Vimeo. - From The Knot

With technology advancing by leaps and bounds, it only makes sense to update the traditions of a wedding. Why not have a 21st century wedding for a 21th century bride, right? This trend is definitely for the savvy bride who wants to treat her guests to something new and fun, all while making it easy to archive and share these memories for years to come!

We have worked with several entertainment vendors who offer this service. Dancenhance Entertainment has a great set up when it comes to photo/video booths! Its fun for the guests and don't worry if you miss out on something, its all saved for the bride and groom. MS Soundworks also offers a photo/video booth service.

In this age of "sharing", "liking", and "tagging", treat your guests to the next big thing and set up a video guest book! They'll have fun leaving messages and letting their personalities shine through. And you'll have a collection of memories that are easy to store, easy to share, and last a life time!
